IPAR partners with Invictus Australia for veteran wellbeing

IPAR and Invictus Australia have announced a formal partnership that will see both organisations further support the health and wellbeing of military veterans and their families.

The partnership will see more sport and recreational opportunities, events and resources available to the Defence community they serve. It will also provide opportunities for the organisations to work together to increase awareness, understanding and appreciation of Australian veterans and families.

Invictus Australia will bring their sporting expertise and connections to the partnership, to help facilitate local initiatives, through its extensive network of sporting partners.

IPAR will be supporting the veterans and families they work with as a national rehabilitation provider to incorporate sport into their rehabilitation journey and enjoy all the benefits of participation, no matter the level.

Michael Hartung, Chief Executive Officer of Invictus Australia said:

“We are delighted to partner with IPAR to share our expertise in the sporting arena, and together show real collaboration in action to deliver better outcomes for veterans and their families. We know the powerful role sport can play in the recovery, rehabilitation and reintegration of our veterans and their families, and look forward to working with the extensive IPAR network across Australia to deliver upon our shared passion and purpose to support all those who have, and continue to serve our country.”

Jo Broomhall, Executive General Manager of IPAR said:

“Our partnership with Invictus Australia is all about supporting veterans and their families in practical ways that truly make a difference, whether it’s through improved access to local sporting activity and the many physical and mental health benefits that flow from it, or by creating meaningful connections to the local Invictus community. We know that sport has the power to inspire and unite people toward one common goal. We will leverage this partnership to help veterans find or reignite their passion for sport and integrate this into their unique rehabilitation and reintegration journey for themselves and their family.”

Both organisations look forward to creating a larger, positive impact for Australian veterans and their families by working together, supporting relevant programs, events and activities.

In working to achieve our purpose, we help our clients to build independence and increase social and economic participation.

We are passionate about supporting veterans and their loved ones to return to health and wellbeing – something we have done since 2011. We do this by engaging with veterans and their partner or support person, listening to their story, and gaining an understanding of exactly what the veteran and their family needs. We also work closely with doctors and other partners in the community who may be assisting veterans to reach their goals.
