NEC and Invictus Australia partner to deliver more support to Australia’s veteran community
1st August, 2022: MEDIA RELEASE: NEC Australia (NECA) and Invictus Australia have today announced a new partnership that will see the organisations work together to strengthen the health and wellbeing of Australian veterans and families through sport and recreation.
Joining as Premier Partner, NECA will help Invictus Australia expand its reach to provide vital physical, mental and emotional support as veterans navigate their journey to civilian life.
Mike Mrdak, Executive Chair & CEO, NEC ANZ, said the partnership will give invaluable support to the veteran community and their families.

Australia is the first nation to take ‘Invictus’ beyond the Games by building on its already powerful brand and core values to support the Defence and veteran community.

The partnership was launched at the Essendon V North Melbourne match at Marvel Stadium on 31st July 2022, as NEC is a strategic partner of Essendon and understands the power of sport to transform lives, health and community.
Local veterans and their families were involved in a Guard of Honour on the ground, Invictus competitors spoke to players, the crowd and other stakeholders, and two children of current serving personnel acted as team mascots for this special announcement.
It was a wonderful opportunity to launch a powerful partnership to support veterans, against an iconic sporting background, with our Defence community warmly welcomed.
