Aussie faves wish Team Australia luck as they head to Invictus Games  

Everyone from the PM, Paralympian legends & Pollies, to comedic champions, scintillating stuntmen and Aussie sporting heroes wished Team Australia the best of luck as they prepare to compete at the sixth iteration of the Invictus Games in Dusseldorf Germany in a few days time.

The Prime Minister’s sentiment was echoed by the Hon Minister for Veterans’ Affairs and Defence Personnel, Matt Keogh, who said, ‘You’ve already served your nation as members of the Defence Force and now you are role models for many more. We will be cheering you on here from home. We wish you all the best of luck.” 

Ellie Cole kicks the video off with her brilliant message: “Hi Team Australia. YEAAHHHHH! I love Sport. I love Australia.” It’s well worth a watch just to hear from this sporting icon, to feel her palpable excitement for all things sport and hear the incredible advice offered to Team Australia. 

Hamish Blake offered his usual heartfelt hilarity, as a long-time supporter of the veteran community and Invictus Australia ambassador.

The Invictus Games is an international, adaptive multi-sports competition for serving and former military personnel who have been wounded, injured or become ill during their military service. Team Australia is delivered in partnership between Invictus Australia and the Australian Defence Force, and consists of 31 competitors.  

Düsseldorf is the sixth city to host the Invictus Games, following The Hague in 2022, Sydney in 2018, Toronto in 2017, Orlando in 2016 and London in 2014.
